Not to be confused with simple little shredded coconut and egg white blobs. I'm talking about French "Macarons" Like a miniature meringue cake in every flavour and colour imaginable. I guess most people know about them now after the whole "marie antoinette" french, romantic revival thing. They really are worth all the fuss though. Oooh yummy!! I have sampled macarons from Laurent bakery in Melbourne and had the pleasure of trying the infamous Laduree version when my mother returned from Paris with a small box for me . Needless to say it was empty by evening. I'm yet to try making my own .........
