Gaston Jaunet

The name 'Gaston Jaunet" popped into my head this morning while I was thinking about tailored shirts and collars.

In the early 90's I discovered a bunch of designer deadstock at the huge old Salvos shop that used to be on Smith St. It was amazing, all beautiful French designer threads. I wish I still had the gorgeous lilac cotton close fitting shirt AND an amazing pair of lilac wool tailored flared trousers!!! The prices were ridiculously cheap too. I also wish I had bought more and actually kept the stuff.

Anyhoo, recalling those beautiful pieces has inspired me to create a shirt reminisent of the one I had.
The shirt in the picture is nothing like the one I had, but it was the same shade.
